In most cases, yes: you can share your travel eSIM’s data with a laptop, tablet or a travel companion’s phone. Hotspot support depends on your device and on the network you’re connected to at your destination, so it isn’t guaranteed on every network.
Turn on a hotspot
- iPhone: SettingsPersonal Hotspot, then switch on Allow Others to Join. Make sure your travel eSIM is selected under Cellular Data.
- Samsung: SettingsConnectionsMobile Hotspot and Tethering, then switch on Mobile Hotspot.
- Pixel: SettingsNetwork & internetHotspot & tethering, then Wi-Fi hotspot.
Hotspot uses your plan’s data
Laptops use far more data than phones: background updates, cloud backups and streaming can use gigabytes quickly. Pause automatic updates and syncing on connected devices, and keep an eye on your usage.
Hotspot not working?
- Check that your eSIM itself has internet on the phone first.
- Toggle the hotspot off and on, then reconnect the other device.
- Restart your phone.
- If it still doesn’t work, the local network may not allow tethering. Contact us and we’ll check.
