When does my plan start?

Your 30 days start the first time the eSIM connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy or install it.

Every OneSim plan is valid for 30 days from activation. Activation happens automatically the first time the eSIM connects to a supported network at your destination.

What doesn’t start the clock

  • Buying the eSIM.
  • Installing it on your phone at home over Wi-Fi.
  • Having it installed but switched off.

That means you can buy and install your eSIM days or weeks before you travel. We recommend installing it at home, where you have reliable Wi-Fi and time to follow the steps.

What happens after activation

From the moment of first connection you have 30 days to use your data. The plan ends when the 30 days are up or when you’ve used all your data, whichever comes first. Your order page shows when your plan was activated and when it expires.

Switch it off at home if you’re near a border

If you install the eSIM for a country you can already pick up a network from (for example, near a border), keep the travel line switched off until you leave so it doesn’t connect early.

Ran out of days or data?

You can top up the same eSIM from your order page, with no reinstall needed.
